Donate to the AAES Foundation

Your gift to the AAES Foundation will help enrich and extend the horizons of endocrine surgery. Contributions help support operations including activities related to education and research of endocrine surgical diseases. You may also choose to make your gift in honor or in memory of someone, or do a directed donation to one of our endowed lecture funds. See below for more information on the various donations funds.

General Fund
Your donation to the AAES Foundation General Fund will help support activities related to the education and professional development of endocrine surgeons and AAES members, as well as the research of endocrine surgical diseases. We will use these funds to build the future of our organization  with new and exciting education and scholarship programs to help expand the knowledge our students, active surgeons and our patients.

Endowed Lectures
Three funds have been created to support the endowed lectures at the AAES Annual Meeting and at Endocrine Surgery University. Your contribution can help support one of these endowed lectures:

  • UCSF Carol and Orlo Clark Lectureship
  • Martha Zeiger M.D. Historical Lecture at Endocrine Surgery University
  • Medical College of Wisconsin – Stuart D. Wilson, M.D. Historical Lecture

Endocrine Research Discovery Fund
The Endocrine Research Discovery Fund aims to build upon and expand the Paul LoGerfo Research Awards, which were first developed to honor the life of Paul LoGerfo, MD who made numerous major contributions to the field of endocrine surgery during his esteemed career. Dr. LoGerfo passed away from malignant melanoma in 2003 during the peak of his career while serving as President of the AAES. Monetary grants will support research in basic science and clinical areas related to endocrine surgical diseases.

Sally E. Carty Collaborative Research Award
In 2024, the AAES Foundation is proud to announce a new fund to name the Sally E. Carty Collaborative Research Award. Dr. Carty has been a pioneer in outcomes research and a lifelong proponent of working closely with colleagues across the world in every specialty dealing with endocrine diseases. Sponsored by friends of Dr. Carty, this $10,000 award will be given as additional support to any winning project of the LoGerfo or ThyCa Award that demonstrates significant cross-disciplinary and/or multi-institution collaboration as judged by the Research Committee. To this end, we do not anticipate that this prestigious award will be given out every year and it will be only granted when there is a truly deserving project. To endow this award, the Foundation seeks to raise an additional $200k and Dr. Carty has offered to provide a substantial lead donation. The Foundation Board plans to raise monies for this fund over the next two years and designate a portion of all donations to this fund as we continue to raise monies for our annual needs.
